When the Marriage Act changed to remove the prohibition
on couples who do not fit into the old “a man and a
woman” definition of marriage, a new item was added to
the Notice of Intended Marriage. Initially described as
Sex, on September 1, 2021, when the Notice form was
updated it became Gender, and
answering the question
became optional.
There are three options for Gender: ‘Male’, ‘Female’ and
‘Non-Binary’ .
PS you can use either a Tick or a Cross to mark the box
- but a cross is usually neater!
