14th every year. It is a popular for weddings. But
did you know that there are many other days
dedicated to love in various countries around the
world? All of which incorporate the tradition
of couples going on a romantic date.

In South Korea, they celebrate Valentine's Day a
little differently. Women give gifts and
chocolates to men. A month later, on March 14th,
known as
White Day, men return the favour by
giving gifts to women.
Dia dos Namorados
In Brazil, the
Dia dos Namorados is
celebrated on June 12, which is the Eve of Saint
Anthony's Saint Anthony is recognised for blessing
young couples with happy and prosperous marriages.
Typically, Typically, the day is celebrated in much
the same way as Valentine's Day - flowers,
chocolates, and a date night - with the addition of
beautiful home decorations (think ceremony
styling?). In other Portuguese-speaking countries,
Valentine's Day is referred to as
Dia dos

Tanabata
Also know as the
Star Festival, Tanabata is
celebrated on July 7th. It commemorates the meeting
of two mythical lovers Orihime and Hikoboshi, who
are separated by the Milky Way and are allowed to
meet only once a year on this day.

The Qixi Festival – also known as the
Double
Seventh Festival or
Chinese Valentine's
Day, has been celebrated for over 2000 years
on the seventh day of the seventh month of the year.
Therefore the date changes from year to year, so it
falls roughly somewhere between 28 July and the end
of August. In 2024 falls on Saturday 10
August. In 2025 on Friday 29 August. In 2026
on Wednesday 19 August. And in 2027, on 08 August.
The Sweetest Day
A confectionary focussed day, with a commercial
origin, The Sweetest Day falls on the third Saturday
in October. While not widely known, it is celebrated
in parts of the US, primarily the Midwest, as a day
on which to share romantic deeds or expressions, and
to spread love and appreciation to the people who
make our lives sweeter. In 2024 it falls on 19
October, in 2025 on 18 October, and in 2026 on 17
October.
